I watched Machete in theaters the other day, and it was just fantastic. Desperado (and thus Robert Rodriguez) has a special place in my film heart, and this was no exception. I only read reviews after I've seen a film, and Rotten Tomatoes provided a great summary. "Rodriguez can't help being who he is, and that is something to smile about." (Jeffrey Chen, Reeltalk). If you can handle over the top gore (e.g you can laugh at it) then you'll love this. It was really weird seeing Lindsay Lohan in a movie, and at first disappointing, but once you realize she's just playing herself you might even grow fond of her, for a sec.
